- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a relevant scientific or technical field such as Physics or Engineering.
- Have 8+ years of experience in media relations or corporate communications.
- Have 4+ years of experience in a deep-tech, scientific, or highly technical industry.
- Bring a proven portfolio of impactful earned-media placements in top-tier financial and technology or trade publications.
- Write quickly, precisely, and clearly under tight deadlines.
- Translate scientific data into clear business narratives.
- Have extensive experience media-training C-suite executives and PhD-level subject matter experts.
- Demonstrate experience using AI-powered tools for drafting, monitoring, and sentiment analysis.
- Preferred: Experience with late-stage, high-growth technology startups or publicly traded deep-tech companies.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of financial media relations and regulatory compliance, such as SEC guidelines and Reg FD.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater, or Brandwatch.
Responsibilities
- Lead proactive pitching to global business, financial, broadcast, deep-tech, and scientific media outlets.
- Oversee the daily activities and results delivery of external agencies.
- Advise executives, scientists, and engineers; develop briefing materials and conduct media training.
- Position subject matter experts for commentary, features, and key industry moments.
- Translate complex quantum computing, networking, sensing, and security concepts into clear narratives with global teams.
- Write and edit press releases, pitch decks, media alerts, executive bios, FAQs, and messaging playbooks.
- Maintain core media messaging and talking points across external communications.
- Coordinate with Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, and People teams on communications.
- Help develop crisis playbooks, protocol updates, and reactive messaging for regulatory, governance, or M&A events.
- Track brand sentiment, share of voice, competitor narratives, and industry trends; maintain media lists, editorial calendars, press kits, and tracking tools.
