Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 4 years of related project controls experience, or demonstrated equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Typically at least 2 years of management consulting experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to lead project controls for small and large projects across a portfolio involving multiple project managers.
  • Knowledge of project planning and scheduling methods, practices, and earned value.
  • Preferred: experience in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of relevant project controls experience.
  • Knowledge of basic Federal Contract Requirements, or willingness to learn them.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project controls function across projects and support multiple project managers.
  • Review performance trends, analyze cost impacts, prepare monthly project performance reports, and recommend contractor invoices for approval.
  • Track actual and committed costs against budgets and update forecasts using earned value assessments and project-team input.
  • Establish project budgets from proposal estimates and assist project managers with project setup and execution.
  • Coordinate with project personnel to develop Work Breakdown Structures and communicate budget, cost, and schedule analysis results.
  • Identify project issues and successes and develop recovery plans when required.
  • Work with procurement to establish purchase orders and subcontract agreements, monitor spending, and track payment releases.
  • Monitor earned value, cost and schedule performance, estimates to completion, project end dates, unbilled amounts, invoicing, and aged accounts receivable.
  • Review client invoices, establish invoice schedules, and prepare monthly reports for internal and external clients.
  • Review contracts and subcontracts for scope, schedule, budget, and risk requirements, and coordinate with project managers to meet contractual procedures.
