Requirements
- Have 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Have 3+ years of experience managing and growing engineering teams.
- Have proven experience delivering consumer-facing software and driving execution through ambiguity.
- Use technical judgment to guide architecture, quality, and reliability decisions while empowering senior engineers.
- Have experience leading significant technical initiatives end-to-end; decoupling or re-platforming consumer-facing systems is preferred.
- Demonstrate a calm, decisive approach to change and ambiguity, including building alignment and resolving tensions.
- Bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills to balance customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Demonstrate communication, stakeholder management, and organizational influence skills.
- Have the ability to build alignment and drive outcomes in complex environments without direct authority.
- Have equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers by setting expectations, giving feedback, and developing each engineer.
- Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, connecting it to customer experience initiatives.
- Support the tech lead and engineers with technical design and cross-functional alignment.
- Oversee availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems.
- Participate in on-call and incident response, and reduce operational toil.
- Drive alignment across organizations and influence partner experience and foundational team roadmaps.
- Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams on cross-functional efforts.
