Requirements
- Have 8+ years of professional experience operating production infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps at scale.
- Bring deep expertise provisioning and running containerized microservices on AWS using EKS, ECS, or similar orchestration systems.
- Have advanced hands-on proficiency with Terraform for complex, multi-environment cloud infrastructure.
- Have experience building automated build and release pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or similar.
- Have experience managing end-to-end telemetry using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Understand backend execution environments, Docker, networking protocols including gRPC and HTTP/REST, and PostgreSQL operations.
- Use AI coding and automation tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, and critically review and test generated code and configurations.
- Be a resident of Canada and eligible to work in Canada.
- Experience with GCP, event-driven platforms, and Go, Python, or Shell scripting is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP using Terraform.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for containerized Go microservices and event processing engines.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on high-concurrency systems and define reliability metrics and autoscaling strategies.
- Implement monitoring, tracing, and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
- Establish and participate in on-call rotations, conduct post-mortems, and automate incident remediation.
- Support PostgreSQL migrations, backup and disaster recovery, and streaming infrastructure.
- Write Architecture Decision Records, infrastructure RFCs, post-mortems, and infrastructure code reviews.
