Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Bring 5+ years of instructional or learning design experience and a portfolio of courses you personally built.
- Have experience managing people or leading a team, formally or as a project lead.
- Have experience partnering with subject matter experts and guiding course builds.
- Demonstrate technical fluency with learning management systems, authoring and media tools, AI-enabled instructional tools, and accessibility standards.
- Be comfortable learning new tools quickly and using judgment about when emerging technology supports learning and when academic integrity requires safeguards.
- Be highly organized and able to manage multiple course builds and team workstreams against firm term deadlines.
- Be comfortable creating templates, standards, and processes in a startup environment.
- Bring learner-centered judgment about the needs of working adults and non-traditional learners.
Responsibilities
- Lead the instruction and learner support workplan, tracking projects, milestones, owners, timelines, and statuses.
- Facilitate meetings and internal reviews, set agendas, document decisions and next steps, and ensure follow-through.
- Translate priorities into actionable plans, track commitments, and resolve blockers.
- Represent the program and learning design function in functional lead syncs, raising progress, dependencies, and decisions needed.
- Design and build courses in the learning management system, including structure, sequencing, activities, assessments, media, and learner-facing materials.
- Create and maintain course design standards, templates, and style guides.
- Partner with contract subject matter experts and adjunct faculty to scope and guide course builds.
- Manage course build timelines and dependencies, and flag risks to delivery.
- Review subject matter expert content for instructional quality, outcome alignment, and readiness, and provide feedback.
- Use learner performance, coach and support observations, and LMS data to identify course issues and drive revisions.
