Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree; a master's degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Have 5+ years of instructional or learning design experience.
- Provide a portfolio of courses you personally built.
- Bring experience designing for online, competency-based, or workforce-aligned programs serving working adults; this experience is strongly preferred.
- Have experience managing people or leading a team, formally or as a project lead.
- Have experience partnering with subject matter experts and guiding course builds.
- Demonstrate technical fluency with learning management systems, authoring and media tools, AI-enabled instructional tools, and accessibility standards.
- Be able to manage multiple course builds and team workstreams against firm term deadlines.
- Be comfortable creating templates, standards, and processes in a start-up environment.
- Apply learner-centered judgment to identify and address challenges for working adults and non-traditional learners.
Responsibilities
- Lead the instruction and learner support workplan, maintaining projects, milestones, owners, timelines, and statuses.
- Facilitate meetings and internal reviews, set agendas, document decisions and next steps, and ensure follow-through.
- Translate priorities into actionable plans, track commitments, and resolve blockers.
- Design and build college courses in the learning management system, including structure, sequencing, activities, assessments, media, and learner-facing materials.
- Translate competencies and learning outcomes into instruction for working adults in an online environment.
- Create and maintain course design standards, templates, and style guides.
- Partner with subject matter experts and adjunct faculty to scope, guide, and review course builds.
- Manage course build timelines and dependencies, and flag risks to term-start readiness.
- Use learner performance, coach and support observations, and LMS data to identify course issues and drive revisions.
- Maintain course documentation for accreditation review and develop practical solutions to process, tooling, or ownership gaps.
