Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of backend engineering experience.
- Have hands-on experience designing and building scalable, data-heavy distributed systems.
- Be proficient in Python and TypeScript or Node.js.
- Have experience with relational databases, SQL, and data modeling.
- Have experience with external partner integrations and production ownership of operational data flows.
- Have experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Have experience developing REST or gRPC APIs.
- Have hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Know testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability for production services.
- Logistics, supply chain, cold-chain, IoT data, ETL, NoSQL, or regulated-industry experience is valuable.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services that ingest and contextualize data from IoT devices, carriers, and other external partners.
- Own partner data flows from ingestion and normalization through warehousing, monitoring, and on-call support.
- Build event-driven systems and integrations using APIs, webhooks, queues, and messaging platforms.
- Develop systems for shipment risk assessment, on-time and in-full prediction, and automated exception workflows.
- Improve service reliability and maintainability through testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Work independently and collaborate with a small team to ship practical improvements.
