Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma/GED combined with at least 3 years of hands-on steam turbine experience.
  • Have experience supporting steam turbine installations, maintenance activities, and power-plant outages.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of turbine and generator systems.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Bring troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities and sound judgment for complex field environments.
  • Understand and apply environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Use digital tools for communication, reporting, and project execution.
  • Travel extensively, approximately 80% of the time, and work holidays, weekends, or overtime when field assignments require it.
  • Be able to obtain unescorted security clearance for work at nuclear power facilities.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Be able to climb ladders and scaffolding, work in hot environments, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Complete required training programs and meet Level II core competency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical direction for maintenance, repair, inspection, and outage activities.
  • Review and interpret manufacturing drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate personnel, tools, materials, and technical support for field work.
  • Lead outage tasks, project scopes, and small field teams.
  • Identify potential equipment failures and recommend future outage and maintenance actions.
  • Troubleshoot plant systems and equipment with engineering teams to develop customer solutions.
  • Support pre-outage planning, warranty administration, and contractual commitments.
  • Communicate project progress, technical findings, and field information to headquarters.
  • Promote safety and ensure compliance with applicable quality procedures and standards.
