Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience selling foundational software and financial products to growth-stage startups.
- Have experience directly engaging founders and finance leaders.
- Have 4+ years of people management experience, including leadership of quota-carrying sales teams.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop sales leaders and experienced individual contributors.
- Bring a strong understanding of the venture ecosystem and how investors, accelerators, and founder communities influence startup purchasing decisions.
- Demonstrate the ability to build and scale a disciplined SaaS sales motion.
- Recognize when in-person relationships, events, and ecosystem engagement can create a competitive advantage.
- Have strong strategic and operational skills to set priorities, establish processes, and drive measurable outcomes.
- Be able to operate autonomously and make decisions in a fast-moving, competitive market.
- Be able to influence and align teams and stakeholders outside your reporting structure.
- Bring coaching, communication, forecasting, and deal-management capabilities.
- Be able to adapt quickly, learn from market feedback, and adjust strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own the startup sales strategy, setting priorities across customer segments, markets, pipeline generation, conversion, and investment areas.
- Establish an operating rhythm that aligns SDRs, Account Executives, Venture Ecosystem Sales, Revenue Strategy & Operations, Partnerships, and Marketing around clear objectives.
- Combine SaaS sales practices—including outbound prospecting, qualification, deal management, and forecasting—with founder and investor engagement, events, and portfolio programs.
- Set standards for discovery, deal strategy, follow-through, forecasting, and customer engagement.
- Coach sales leaders and individual contributors using performance reporting and market feedback.
- Support customer activation and adoption across payments, cards, deposits, and broader financial operations.
- Partner with SDR leadership, Revenue Strategy & Operations, Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and post-sales teams to remove obstacles and accelerate growth.
- Lead hiring, talent development, workflow improvements, and organizational scaling.
- Use customer, competitive, and market insights to adapt the sales motion.
- Oversee Venture Ecosystem efforts and strengthen relationships with founders, investors, accelerators, and startup communities.
