Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or business-unit finance.
  • Bring experience supporting Product, Engineering, R&D, or other technical organizations, ideally in SaaS or enterprise technology.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Bring experience partnering directly with senior business leaders and establishing credibility with SVP-level stakeholders.
  • Have experience building and owning driver-based forecasts, including headcount-to-cost, roadmap-to-cost, and resource-planning models.
  • Demonstrate advanced financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience leading planning, forecasting, and business-review processes in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Bring systems and data fluency, including experience with shared data models and planning platforms.
  • Have experience with planning platforms such as Anaplan, Adaptive, or Pigment and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar; SQL is a plus.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use AI tools for financial modeling, reporting, analysis, and synthesis while applying sound financial judgment.
  • Communicate complex financial and operational information clearly to technical and Finance executives.
  • An MBA, CFA, or CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to senior Product & Engineering leaders on budgets, forecasts, roadmaps, and investment decisions.
  • Build financial plans, forecasts, and long-range views, reflecting roadmap changes in headcount and cost expectations.
  • Link roadmap decisions to forward-looking headcount, cost, and resource-allocation forecasts.
  • Partner with leaders on investment prioritization, resource tradeoffs, and portfolio reallocation.
  • Analyze product-development economics, including product-building and maintenance costs and returns on major investments.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with driver-based narratives on performance, risks, opportunities, and actions.
  • Build KPI and assumption frameworks connecting roadmap execution, hiring plans, productivity, and spending.
  • Model forecast assumptions, explain variances, identify risks, and work with business leaders on mitigation plans.
  • Represent Product & Engineering in FP&A, annual operating planning, and long-range planning processes.
