Requirements
- Have 3 or more years’ experience in external communications, public relations, strategic communications, or a related field.
- Have 3 or more years’ experience in leadership roles, including staff supervision or management.
- Have strong working knowledge of Asana or comparable project management software, including workflows, timelines, assignments, and dependencies.
- Have working proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or comparable professional design software to make basic content adjustments and support communications deliverables.
- Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, business administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience supporting internal communications is an asset.
- Experience integrating data or audience insights into communications is an asset.
- Experience working with Indigenous youth and communities is an asset.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communications plans that support organizational vision, campaigns, programs, and strategic objectives.
- Translate organizational priorities into communications objectives, audience engagements, channels, timelines, and deliverables.
- Maintain the organizational communications calendar and monitor communications effectiveness using engagement data.
- Develop and maintain Communications workflows, procedures, and project management practices, including use of Asana.
- Monitor project progress, team capacity, competing priorities, dependencies, and risks, and escalate significant barriers as needed.
- Oversee and quality-check social media, website content, campaigns, and other digital communications.
- Review, draft, edit, proofread, or refine communications materials and develop key messages with departments and organizational leadership.
- Manage day-to-day team operations, supervise direct reports, and support staff onboarding and professional development.
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of regional gatherings, meetings, and community engagement events.
