Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close, financial reporting, and general-ledger accounting.
  • Working knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing financial processes.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP and financial-reporting systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including analyzing and organizing large amounts of financial data.
  • CPA designation or active progress toward a CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience in a senior accountant, assistant controller, plant accountant, or similar role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, automotive, distribution, or e-commerce business is preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, or legal entities is an asset.
  • Experience with Infor SyteLine is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare financial statements and analyze results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Record daily cash deposits and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Provide management with insight into revenue, gross margin, labor, inventory, expenses, and other financial drivers.
  • Support audits, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and capital expenditure analysis.
  • Oversee inventory and cost-accounting activities, including costing, reserves, variances, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and other transaction-processing activities.
  • Maintain internal controls and support financial-system improvements and ERP integration initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate accounting processes.
