Requirements
- Have considerable professional experience in platform engineering on complex, scalable systems.
- Bring hands-on expertise with AWS and distributed cloud architectures.
- Have experience operating production platforms handling at least 6,000 requests per second.
- Understand enterprise deployment and maintenance processes, including blue-green deployments.
- Be proficient with Terraform and configuration management tools.
- Have strong Python, Go, or similar language skills for automation and tooling.
- Have significant experience with Java, C++, C#, PHP, or another language, preferably in a sizable object-oriented codebase.
- Have hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog or Prometheus, and incident/problem management practices.
- Understand distributed systems, microservices, and resilience patterns.
- Have hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Have practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Have experience supporting and mentoring engineers through code review, pairing, and feedback.
- Have experience using agentic AI or an interest in productivity tooling, including agentic AI.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to system design and architecture decisions, balancing speed, scalability, maintainability, and security.
- Own services from design through production, ensuring observability and adherence to agreed Service Level Objectives.
- Improve platform reliability, performance, efficiency, and infrastructure and operations automation.
- Apply coding standards, write tested and reusable code, and help ensure services meet production readiness standards.
- Provide estimates and feasibility input, deliver work iteratively, contribute to release planning, and participate in post-release reviews.
- Support and mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and constructive feedback.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response; lead investigations, contribute to post-mortems, and drive follow-up improvements.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, the Tech Lead, and engineers to align technical delivery with product strategy.
