Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment.
- Be proficient in Go (Golang) or ready to ramp quickly; the team writes everything in Go.
- Have experience designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs used internally and externally across products or services.
- Bring real-world knowledge of API versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
- Be familiar with microservices and cloud-native architectures.
- Understand containers and Kubernetes.
- Know how to build services that are observable and resilient in production.
- Be able to collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across product lines.
- Be self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in a remote startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs.
- Ensure shared APIs and services work well across products and customer segments.
- Own features from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
- Partner with Product Management and the Experience team to deliver features.
- Create technical design documents and drive design plans.
- Help prioritize tradeoffs and ship iteratively against roadmap deadlines.
