Requirements
- Hold a completed degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Have 7–10 years of solid experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public affairs.
- Have proven experience engaging with Brazil’s National Congress, ministries, and regulatory agencies.
- Bring in-depth knowledge of government operations and legislative processes, including bill progression, parliamentary dynamics, and regulatory processes.
- Have an established network of relationships with public-sector decision-makers.
- Communicate effectively in writing and orally, translating complex technical topics into accessible language.
- Have advanced or fluent English for communication with headquarters and regional leaders.
- Demonstrate analytical and strategic capability, execution skills, autonomy, proactivity, and urgency.
- Be able to work collaboratively across disciplines and align priorities with multiple stakeholders in an evolving organization.
- Experience in technology companies, fintech, or digital platforms is desirable.
- Knowledge of tourism, travel, or e-commerce is desirable.
- Experience at a government relations consultancy, team management experience, and advanced Spanish are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead institutional relationships with ministries, regulatory agencies, legislators, and other public bodies relevant to the business.
- Represent Decolar in meetings, hearings, and industry forums with government authorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers across the three branches of government and at federal, state, and municipal levels.
- Coordinate legislative and regulatory monitoring with contracted public affairs consultants or agencies.
- Track bills, regulations, and policy changes that may affect Decolar’s operations, and prepare executive reports with scenario analysis and recommendations.
- Identify regulatory risks and opportunities, and coordinate impact assessments with Legal, Tax, Compliance, Commercial, and other specialist teams.
- Develop and implement advocacy and institutional positioning strategies, including technical, economic, and social-impact arguments and policy or legislative proposals.
- Build coalitions and alliances with companies and associations, report developments and risks to the Legal Director and Country Manager, and document interactions in line with compliance policies.
