Requirements

  • Have 4+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role within data, analytics, or BI.
  • Bring a strong technical foundation in SQL, data transformation, ETL/ELT, and data modeling.
  • Understand modern cloud data warehouse, lakehouse, and analytics architectures.
  • Translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build credibility and trusted relationships with data practitioners, senior executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience with dbt or analytics engineering is a bonus.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or other modern cloud data platforms is a bonus.
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, Kimball, Data Vault, or 3NF is a bonus.
  • Experience with Informatica, Boomi, Talend, or other enterprise data integration or ETL platforms is a bonus.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise technical evaluations, migrations, or transformation initiatives is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers, connecting technical requirements to business outcomes and measurable success criteria.
  • Design enterprise-grade data transformation and analytics architectures using dbt.
  • Partner with Sales to communicate the technical and business value of the dbt platform.
  • Lead customer evaluations and technical validation, including trials and proof-of-value engagements when appropriate.
  • Build trusted relationships with technical practitioners, data leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Guide customers through technical architecture, security, governance, and deployment considerations.
  • Support successful adoption across the customer lifecycle and identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Bring customer and field insights to Product and Engineering to help influence product strategy and roadmap.
  • Build relationships with technology and consulting partners, including Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS.
  • Contribute technical expertise, reusable best practices, and thought leadership to Field Engineering and the dbt community.
