Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Have 5+ years of software development experience focused on Java backend web applications.
- Have previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
- Understand RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous processing.
- Have experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Have experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Be familiar with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrate expertise in software design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and clean code practices.
- Have hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Apply problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Use AI tools such as Claude Code across design, development, testing, and release, providing context and validating their output.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code, and review and validate AI-generated code.
- Influence technical design and architecture decisions and own delivery outcomes.
- Author and maintain technical designs, architecture documentation, and team best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to testing, including automating testing with AI where useful.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development and production.
- Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to software engineers, including through one-on-one meetings and performance evaluations.
- Raise engineering standards and drive process and tooling improvements across the team.
- Work within an Agile SCRUM team and integrate AI-assisted work into design, build, test, and release cycles.
- Communicate trade-offs, updates, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and assist Client Success with support-related issues.
