Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Medical Billing/Coding, or Health Information Technology.
- Hold AAPC credentials for CPC and/or CPB.
- Be a current AAPC-approved instructor for CPC and/or CPB.
- Have 1-2 years' experience in the medical coding and billing industry.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and internet applications.
- Be willing to self-assess, take feedback, and incorporate results into practice.
- Demonstrate the ability to work as a team member within college, state, federal, and accrediting or approval agency regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Preferred: master's degree in Healthcare Management, Medical Billing/Coding, or Health Information Technology.
- Preferred: 3-5 years’ experience in the medical coding and billing industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide online classroom instruction for Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) classes.
- Provide online classroom instruction for Certified Professional Biller (CPB) classes.
- Prepare students for the AAPC Certified Professional Coder and AAPC Certified Professional Biller exams.
- Facilitate an active virtual learning classroom using alternative delivery methodologies.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge and skills in the discipline to support classroom responsibilities.
- Participate in departmental, campus-wide, and college-wide activities supporting students and the Online Education team.
