Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience in healthcare communications, preferably within an agency environment.
- Bring a strong track record of producing high-quality medical communications deliverables.
- Hold an advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline; PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop scientifically rigorous narratives for diverse audiences.
- Apply scientific reasoning to analyze complex data, identify insights, and translate them into actionable, compliant communications.
- Manage multiple projects, accounts, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining quality.
- Have leadership or people-management experience, including mentoring, coaching, and supporting medical writers.
- Bring client-facing, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, online proofing platforms such as Workfront Proof or Ziflow, and Veeva Vault.
- Have experience using AI-powered tools and resources responsibly for scientific research, content development, and workflow efficiency.
- Be able to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively across functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor medical writers across assigned therapeutic areas and client accounts.
- Review, revise, and oversee medical content for scientific accuracy, strategic alignment, consistency, and compliance.
- Advise clients on medical strategies and the development, design, and analysis of communication tactics and deliverables.
- Serve as a primary medical contact for assigned projects and provide strategic and tactical guidance.
- Translate scientific evidence into clear, concise, audience-appropriate medical narratives.
- Partner with account and project leads to understand project scope and status, support budgeting and resourcing, and facilitate team communication.
- Contribute to new business proposals, presentations, and client pitches.
- Support broader departmental and organizational initiatives.
