Requirements

  • Seven or more years of progressive experience in benefits administration, total rewards, or HR programs.
  • Experience managing complex employee benefits and leave programs.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and applicable state leave laws.
  • Experience partnering with benefits brokers, insurance carriers, consultants, and leave administrators.
  • Experience using HRIS and benefits administration platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn benefits data into practical recommendations.
  • Project management, organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting benefits integration during mergers, acquisitions, or organizational change is a plus.
  • CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or a related professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, design, and administration of health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits programs.
  • Oversee medical, family, disability, statutory, and company-provided leave programs.
  • Ensure benefits and leave programs comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Lead annual benefits planning and open enrollment, including plan evaluation, systems coordination, and employee communications.
  • Build relationships with brokers, consultants, insurance carriers, leave administrators, and other external partners.
  • Review participation, utilization, costs, and employee feedback to identify program improvements.
  • Manage benefits budgets, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Oversee 401(k) plan administration, reporting, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain benefits and leave information in HRIS and benefits platforms, and create employee education materials.
  • Support benefits and leave integration during mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes; participate in HR technology implementations and process improvements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on program performance, participation, and cost trends.
