Requirements
- Have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Bring deep, current, hands-on expertise in native iOS development with Swift and UIKit or SwiftUI.
- Bring deep, current, hands-on expertise in native Android development with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Have a track record of independently shipping medium-to-large complexity features on either platform without ramp-up.
- Be able to read, debug, and reason about the other platform's code.
- Have experience keeping two independent native codebases coherent at scale.
- Be comfortable owning a feature end-to-end amid ambiguity and deciding when to escalate.
- Have experience partnering closely with design and product to turn ambiguous requirements into concrete, platform-appropriate implementations.
- Be prepared to work in fully native codebases rather than relying on React Native or Flutter.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship features across the native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) codebases, often delivering the same initiative in parallel on both platforms.
- Partner with design and product to translate product specifications into platform-idiomatic implementations.
- Uphold architecture, performance, and app-size standards across both platforms.
- Contribute to shared client contracts, including schema, logging, and testing frameworks consumed by both apps.
- Identify changes that could cause the iOS and Android platforms to drift apart.
- Help other engineers ramp into dual-platform work through pairing and code review.
- Participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions spanning both platforms.
