Requirements
- Hands-on experience with electronics production testing.
- Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle from prototype to mass production.
- Ability to read and develop schematics, use measurement equipment, solder, and troubleshoot interactions between electronics, firmware, and test software.
- Hands-on experience developing or implementing automated tests and production test fixtures.
- Strong Linux and Python skills, including pytest.
- Experience leading an engineering team, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and people development.
- Experience managing cross-team dependencies and working directly with factories on technical requirements, production changes, and issue resolution.
- English proficiency sufficient for working calls, written communication, and technical documentation with factories.
- Nice to have: experience launching production on-site in China and working directly with Chinese factories.
- Nice to have: confident use of AI tools for rapid prototyping.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a production testing roadmap for new products, launches, mass production support, and infrastructure improvements.
- Lead the engineering team, allocate resources, develop team capabilities, and balance urgent production issues with planned work.
- Coordinate dependencies across hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and other teams, identifying risks and blockers early.
- Define production testing strategies and acceptance criteria, and oversee test fixtures, equipment, software, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate test deployment at factories and maintain current instructions and test result monitoring.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify defect root causes and validate fixes.
- Analyze production test data, returns, and support cases to identify systemic issues and drive improvements to products, manufacturing processes, or testing.
