Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in sales, business development, customer development, account management, or a related commercial role.
- Demonstrated track record of developing new business and accounts.
- Experience with public sector markets or comparable complex business environments is highly valuable.
- Telematics or connected transportation industry experience is an asset.
- Ability to understand technical and business requirements and translate customer needs into practical, commercially viable solutions.
- Ability to identify opportunities, anticipate customer needs, build trusted relationships, and develop partnerships across stakeholders.
- Negotiation, diplomacy, conflict resolution, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Project management skills, including coordinating stakeholders and driving initiatives through completion.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong commercial judgment.
- Technical proficiency with Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 50%, with a valid passport and flexibility to attend customer meetings and business events.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, research, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across assigned public sector segments and markets.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans, sales targets, budgets, and growth objectives.
- Build, qualify, and establish cooperative contracts for sales channels pursuing public sector opportunities.
- Partner with business segment teams and leadership to prioritize and close key client pursuits.
- Identify and develop partners, resellers, and channel relationships.
- Research market and competitive trends, customer needs, emerging players, and differentiators.
- Collaborate with internal teams on RFX and proposal processes.
- Guide partner account managers and resellers with public sector market knowledge.
- Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Maintain business development activity and pipeline information in relevant systems.
