Requirements

  • Hold a valid and active New York Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Hold a valid and active New York DEA registration with schedules 2–5.
  • Work independently in a 100% virtual environment.
  • Use electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ideal candidate profile).
  • Experience in women's health or perinatal mental health is preferred.
  • Additional state licensures and DEA registrations are preferred.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and laws governing psychiatric nursing practice.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and their families and provide clear explanations of medical information.
  • Be willing to learn and use technologies for virtual mental health care.
  • Provide professional equipment, such as a laptop, as a contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments, review medical histories, perform mental status examinations, and formulate diagnoses.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including appropriate medications, therapy, and other interventions.
  • Provide evidence-based, patient-centered psychiatric care focused on women's health or perinatal health issues.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Monitor patients' progress, side effects, and changing clinical needs, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in electronic health records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Stay current with psychiatric nursing and women's health research and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.
