Requirements
- Hold a valid and active Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license in California, New York, New Jersey, or Texas.
- Hold a valid and active DEA registration covering schedules 2–5 in California, New York, New Jersey, or Texas.
- Be able to work independently in a 100% virtual environment.
- Use electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software proficiently.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards and applicable psychiatric nursing laws and regulations.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
- Demonstrate cultural humility and cultural competency when serving a diverse patient population.
- Be open to learning new technologies and approaches to virtual mental healthcare.
- Preferred: have a minimum of two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Preferred: have experience in women's health or perinatal mental health.
- Provide professional equipment needed for virtual care, such as a laptop, as a contractor.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing mental status examinations.
- Formulate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans, including appropriate medications, therapy, and other interventions.
- Provide evidence-based, patient-centered psychiatric care focused on women's health or perinatal health issues.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor patients' progress, side effects, and changing clinical needs, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in electronic health records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Stay current with psychiatric nursing and women's health research and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.
