Requirements
- Be a high-school graduate or have an equivalent qualification.
- Have 1-2 years of medical accounts receivable experience.
- Have knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT.
- Know the full-cycle revenue model.
- Understand ICD and CPT application, correct practices, tools used in the healthcare industry, and audits.
- Be able to interpret documents, medical records, and other documentation related to medical claims.
- Have technical and computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Office, web tools, and medical billing software systems.
- Be able to identify and resolve trends within your workflow.
- Athena experience is preferred.
- Behavioral Health experience is preferred.
- EPIC experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Resolve billing issues and denials requiring clinical expertise.
- Research and resolve claim denials and rejections for assigned clients.
- Own billing-cycle activities for assigned clients, including charges, payments, and accounts receivable metrics and performance.
- Meet customer and company deadlines and timeframes.
- Assist in developing processes and procedures for assigned accounts.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and issues for potential organizational impact.
- Communicate identified trends and recommended resolutions to assigned clients.
- Collaborate with departments to support billing accuracy and efficiency.
- Deliver required reports to management and communicate resolutions to issues such as payer denial trends, collections accounts, and inaccurate charges.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws.
