Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or GED; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Have 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing or collections.
- Have 1+ years of experience with MVA claim resolution preferred.
- Demonstrate strong computer proficiency and knowledge of basic office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Have an intermediate understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing and data requirements for MVA and first-party auto claims.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
- Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work independently and maintain performance under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Research Motor Vehicle Accident claim payments using EnableComp software, systems, tools, and online medical websites.
- Request, acquire, and review medical records, provider notes, explanations of benefits, and other supporting documentation.
- Submit hospital claims to insurance companies with the documentation needed for reimbursement.
- Follow up with payers, update claim systems with accurate information, and confirm supporting documentation has been received.
- Prepare MVA billing packets using EnableComp systems and submit them with required supporting documentation.
- Communicate with patients and insurance adjusters about claim status and expected resolution.
- Review payer explanations of benefits and determine appropriate actions for claim balances after auto insurance claim resolution.
- Handle patient health information while maintaining privacy and security.
