Requirements
- Have 8+ years of experience in database administration and related database disciplines.
- Bring hands-on experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, and SQL scripting.
- Have experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.
- Have experience creating and managing standalone SQL and Oracle databases.
- Have experience identifying and triaging database and server issues.
- Have experience with server maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patching.
- Have experience with HA, DR, backup, and restore processes.
- Have experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, security, compliance, automation, and incident management.
- Be available for 8 working hours per day within 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET.
- Be able to support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance.
- Be willing to complete federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if required.
- SQL Server/database certification is preferred.
- Current or prior federal background investigation or Public Trust is preferred.
- Federal government or federal contracting experience is preferred.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Datadog, Dynatrace, or cloud database environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise SQL and Oracle databases.
- Manage database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance.
- Develop and maintain backup, restore, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) processes.
- Perform database, query, optimizer, and storage performance tuning.
- Establish and support monitoring, alerting, security, compliance, and database configuration standards.
- Develop SQL scripts and automation to improve database operations.
- Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and support incident prevention.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams.
- Support occasional scheduled after-hours patching, reboots, and maintenance.
