Requirements

  • Have 8+ years of experience in database administration and related database disciplines.
  • Bring strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL.
  • Demonstrate experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL Scripting, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.
  • Have experience creating and managing standalone Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Have experience troubleshooting and triaging database and server issues.
  • Have experience with database and server maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patching.
  • Have experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restore processes.
  • Have experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, security, compliance, automation, and incident management.
  • Be able to work independently and collaborate across technical teams.
  • Be available for 8 working hours per day within the customer's 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET core-hours window and support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance.
  • Oracle certification such as OCP, OCA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Datadog, Dynatrace, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Manage database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain backup, restore, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) processes.
  • Perform advanced database, query, optimizer, and storage performance tuning.
  • Establish and support database monitoring, alerting, security, compliance, and configuration standards.
  • Develop SQL/PL-SQL scripts and automation to improve database operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex database incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and support incident prevention.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams and communicate technical issues and recommendations.
  • Support occasional scheduled after-hours patching, server reboots, and maintenance activities.
