Requirements
- Have 4+ years of database administration experience.
- Bring hands-on experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, and SQL scripting.
- Demonstrate experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.
- Have experience creating and managing standalone SQL and Oracle databases.
- Have experience identifying and troubleshooting database issues.
- Have experience with server maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patching.
- Have experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restore processes.
- Have experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, security, automation, and incident management.
- Be able to work independently and collaborate across technical teams.
- Be available for 8 working hours per day within 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET and support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance.
- Be willing to complete federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if required.
- Preferred: SQL Server/database certification, federal background investigation or Public Trust, federal government or federal contracting experience, and experience with the listed database monitoring tools or cloud database environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL and Oracle databases.
- Support database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance.
- Manage backup, restore, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover processes.
- Monitor and tune database performance, alerts, and operational dashboards.
- Implement database security, auditing, configuration, and compliance requirements.
- Develop SQL scripts and database administration automation.
- Troubleshoot database incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
- Support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance activities.
