Requirements

  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience in digital PR, media relations, content marketing, SEO, or a related area is a plus; internships, academic projects, freelance work, or relevant coursework are welcome.
  • Foundational understanding of SEO principles, including content, backlinks, and authority.
  • Strong writing skills and a creative approach to pitches and campaign messaging.
  • Ability to self-edit for spelling, grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, including managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Basic comfort with data and interest in measuring and reporting campaign performance.
  • Exposure to media outreach or PR tools such as Muck Rack, BuzzStream, Prowly, or Cision.
  • Introductory experience with SEO or research tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or Google Search Console.
  • Comfort using AI-powered tools for research, ideation, personalization, and efficiency, with human judgment and accuracy checks.
  • Familiarity with AP Style, spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets, Google Workspace, and collaboration tools such as Slack, Airtable, or Trello.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of digital PR campaigns to promote ConsumerAffairs content.
  • Track news, pop culture, and digital marketing trends to help develop timely campaign ideas.
  • Write tailored pitches to pursue media coverage across top-tier and niche outlets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers, keeping outreach organized.
  • Support media interview preparation with briefing materials, talking points, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Monitor competitor activity and flag relevant trends, media moments, and industry opportunities.
  • Collaborate across teams on content ideas and initiatives to grow ConsumerAffairs’ authority and visibility.
