At least 12-18 months of directly related experience; preferred: 1+ year of personal lines third-party auto casualty claims experience and 1+ year of experience handling attorney-represented claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 12-18 months of directly related experience.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of personal lines third-party auto casualty claims experience.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience handling attorney-represented claims.
  • Experience handling litigated third-party auto casualty claims is preferred.
  • Experience handling uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims is preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in legal liability, general insurance policy coverage, and State Tort Law.
  • Good interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.
  • Reliable attendance and active engagement during mandatory training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, investigate, and resolve attorney-represented and litigated auto and homeowner's bodily injury claims.
  • Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages, and settle claims within prescribed authority levels.
  • Identify potentially suspicious claims for referral to SIU and identify third-party subrogation opportunities.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and conferences; report claim status to Home Office and local management.
  • Confer with trial counsel and prepare trial reports.
  • Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants to gather claim information, and respond to written and telephone inquiries.
  • Ensure reserves are adequate and maintain updated files and comprehensive reports.
  • Manage the practices and billing activities of outside and in-house counsel.
