Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of guiding cross-team architecture and resolving high-impact technical trade-offs.
- Expertise in API design, distributed systems, data modeling, and production operations.
- Experience with high-risk domains where security, correctness, and performance are paramount.
- Ability to write clear design documents and align non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor senior engineers.
- Ability to integrate AI tools into engineering work, including code exploration, design analysis, test generation, debugging, and documentation.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI output and establish review and safety practices for security-sensitive systems.
- Hands-on experience with OAuth/OIDC, JWTs, RBAC, or ReBAC systems such as OpenFGA is a bonus.
- Proficiency with Go, Python, event-driven architecture such as Kafka, and AWS or modern CI/CD stacks is a bonus.
- Experience in security-sensitive environments, fintech, insurtech, or complex partner integration platforms is a bonus.
- Experience creating reusable AI-assisted engineering workflows, tools, prompts, or agent skills is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and delivery initiatives across authentication, authorization, account lifecycles, and partner relationships.
- Define multi-service technical direction, including API contracts, data models, migration paths, and rollout strategies.
- Translate product, security, and business requirements into designs and align cross-functional partners and dependencies.
- Build scalable backend services and improve testing, observability, deployment safety, and operational reliability.
- Guide and mentor engineers across teams and strengthen technical design skills.
- Develop centralized authentication, token validation, and fine-grained access control capabilities.
- Support account identity, deduplication, matching, and transfer workflows.
- Modernize legacy systems and broker or partner relationship logic.
- Develop scalable event-driven services and APIs for core business platforms.
