Have 5+ years of experience in production-grade software development and data integration.
Bring expert Python, SQL, and object-oriented programming skills, including Java or Go.
Design reusable architectures and refactor complex codebases.
Have deep knowledge of distributed systems, data architecture, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and secure enterprise networking.
Have experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Have hands-on expertise in scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
Bring familiarity with the broader Matillion product estate.
Use AI tools across delivery and validate their outputs; production LLM, RAG, or AI agent experience is optional.
Have customer-facing technical delivery experience spanning pre-sales discovery, implementation, and escalation management.
Communicate with C-suite executives and technical developers during complex debugging sessions.
Apply sound architectural judgment to balance speed, scalability, and maintainability under ambiguity.
Deliver production systems independently in high-pressure environments.

Run discovery, architect multi-cloud deployments, write production-grade code, and guide customer projects through production cut-over.
Build data pipelines, models, and integrations across cloud data platforms.
Modify Matillion’s underlying codebase when native platform features are missing, following engineering, security, and quality standards.
Deliver pragmatic MVPs by diagnosing customer problems, challenging initial requirements, and reducing scope where appropriate.
Work across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to build executive trust and resolve complex escalations.
Train customer champions and create handover documentation for Customer Success and Support teams.
Support pre-sales cycles with technical discovery, proof-of-concept delivery, objection handling, and joint strategy work with Account Executives.
Identify recurring delivery patterns, submit product feedback, and build reusable implementation frameworks.
Integrate AI tools across the delivery lifecycle and set quality validation standards for AI-generated outputs.
Mentor engineers, shape hiring standards, refine delivery processes, and keep expertise current in AI and cloud technology.
