Requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Have at least 5 years of experience working with relational databases.
- Bring strong experience in MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Have experience supporting large-scale or multi-terabyte database environments.
- Demonstrate strong SQL skills focused on query performance and optimization.
- Have experience with replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Have experience with automation and Git-based workflows.
- Database migration and change management tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, or Grate are preferred.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and MSSQL environments is preferred.
- Experience designing multi-tenant database architectures is preferred.
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar is preferred.
- Healthcare or revenue cycle management experience and experience supporting high-volume production systems are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve MySQL schemas for scalable, multi-tenant architectures.
- Define and enforce database design standards for indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization.
- Optimize complex SQL queries and resolve systemic database performance issues.
- Automate database change management, schema deployments, and migrations.
- Maintain replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure data integrity.
- Support cross-platform environments, including MSSQL and Snowflake integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering and BI teams on data structures for reporting and analytics.
- Use Jira workflows and GitHub for version control and documentation.
