Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of engineering experience.
- Have 2 to 3 or more years managing multiple engineering teams.
- Have managed teams of 6 or more engineers.
- Bring experience scaling teams; experience managing other engineering managers is preferred.
- Demonstrate hands-on technical ability, including writing, reviewing, and understanding code.
- Have strong backend architecture experience and the ability to ramp up on new technologies.
- Bring experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Be able to prioritize independently and work through ambiguity.
- Have strong communication skills and experience connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Be familiar with React, TypeScript, Python, AWS, and MongoDB.
- Education technology experience is relevant.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple product squads focused on scheduling, visibility and reporting, and elementary school experiences.
- Contribute code, review changes, and pair with engineers.
- Make and implement architecture decisions for a robust, scalable platform.
- Partner with Product, School Success, and other stakeholders to set squad goals.
- Align engineering priorities with business outcomes.
- Deliver high-value product features, including advancing AI-powered capabilities.
