Requirements
- Be a fully qualified accountant: CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Have 4+ years of post-qualification or post-articles experience in financial accounting.
- Bring hands-on experience with month-end journals, general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Have strong Excel skills.
- NetSuite experience is highly advantageous; comparable multi-entity ERP experience is also relevant.
- Experience reviewing the work of a bookkeeper or AP team member is a plus.
- Be able to manage recurring deadlines, question unsupported numbers and communicate clearly and concisely.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close for assigned entities, preparing, posting and reviewing journals against the close timetable.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules to an audit-ready standard.
- Investigate and clear reconciling items promptly.
- Review and guide the AP Specialist's work, including supplier, bank and credit-card reconciliations, coding and cut-off.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journals and balances, including leave provisions and employee-related accruals.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and prepayment and amortisation schedules.
- Manage intercompany balances and multi-currency and revaluation processes across the Group.
- Support VAT and statutory accounting requirements across Netherlands, USA, Portugal and UK entities, working with external advisers where needed.
