Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Biology, or a related field and have 3+ years of relevant experience, or hold a PhD and have at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Have 5+ years of progressive experience in sustainability, agribusiness, marketing, or a related field within the animal health or livestock sector.
- Bring a deep understanding of carbon markets and greenhouse gas accounting, particularly Scope 3 emissions.
- Have experience applying carbon-market methodologies and standards to project or program design, including voluntary carbon markets, consulting, or MMRV development.
- Understand dairy and feedlot/beef production systems and have experience engaging directly with producers.
- Know dairy and beef carbon-footprinting methodologies and approaches.
- Have experience with third-party validation and verification processes.
- Be able to translate complex sustainability concepts into practical programs, commercial opportunities, and clear recommendations.
- Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration, communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Work strategically and independently while coordinating across global and regional teams.
- Bring analytical and problem-solving ability, with attention to credibility, measurement, risk, and operational feasibility.
- Be willing and able to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of carbon programs and evolve existing sustainability programs across international markets.
- Create program design documentation and guide Measurement, Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MMRV) and operational requirements.
- Align program development priorities with program design, commercial, technical, and operations teams across markets.
- Apply carbon-market standards, methodologies, and reporting frameworks to program design.
- Oversee MMRV implementation for new sustainability assets with regional teams and operational stakeholders.
- Lead localization and deployment of sustainability technology so data models reflect regional production systems and producer requirements.
- Identify commercialization pathways and provide technical expertise to food-chain and off-take partners.
- Manage relationships with consultants, auditors, technology partners, and consulting partners.
- Manage program-level risks and contribute to contracts and supporting documentation with legal and operations teams.
- Represent international market needs in technology road-mapping and contribute to livestock sustainability thought leadership.
