Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or 5+ years of business-to-business sales experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience selling security software or technology solutions through channel partners to U.S. Federal Civilian Agencies is preferred.
  • Experience in the technology or cybersecurity industry is preferred.
  • Established relationships and a strong network of contacts within the assigned federal territory.
  • Sales, prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical aspects of cybersecurity products and solutions.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Outlook is preferred.
  • Security clearance is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as business needs require.
  • Based in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for decision-makers and business opportunities across targeted civilian federal agencies.
  • Present and sell cybersecurity products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Manage the sales cycle from prospecting and cold calling through demonstrations, proposals, follow-up, and negotiations.
  • Build relationships with C-level executives, federal stakeholders, resellers, and other decision-makers.
  • Develop sales approaches with Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, and Channel Managers.
  • Maintain and expand contact networks within targeted accounts and follow up on leads and referrals.
  • Respond to customer requests, resolve issues, and support customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
  • Work with reseller and channel partners to support opportunities and maintain communication across the sales cycle.
  • Maintain account information, pipeline activity, and customer records in the CRM system.
  • Manage territory activity to achieve and exceed annual sales targets.
