Requirements
- Have strong backend engineering experience, including building and maintaining APIs or services in production.
- Be experienced in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Understand authentication, authorization, retries, idempotency, rate limits, and partial failures.
- Have built software that other developers depend on and understand the responsibility of maintaining it.
- Care about interface design, clear errors, useful documentation, and backward compatibility.
- Be able to take an ambiguous problem, propose a focused solution, and follow through after release.
- Have maintained an open source project or worked closely with external contributors (exceptional-fit qualification).
- Have built SDKs, command-line tools, MCP servers, or integrations between platforms (exceptional-fit qualification).
- Have experience with React or frontend build tooling (exceptional-fit qualification).
- Have built and operated systems with queues, monitoring, and error recovery (exceptional-fit qualification).
- Have worked across multiple programming languages and understand what makes a library feel natural in each (exceptional-fit qualification).
- Have experience with email development or a strong interest in learning the space (exceptional-fit qualification).
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain developer tools that make Resend easy to integrate across languages, frameworks, and environments.
- Build and operate services that support developer tools and integrations.
- Collaborate with product squads on clear API contracts and consistent behavior across SDKs, CLI, MCP, and documentation.
- Build interfaces developers and agents use to work with Resend, including MCP, skills, and the CLI.
- Maintain compatibility, testing, releases, and upgrades for shipped tools.
- Build shared tooling that helps other squads ship changes across developer tools confidently.
- Work directly with developers through support, GitHub issues, and pull requests.
