Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Have 12–15 years of combined database administration, database engineering, and systems administration experience supporting enterprise or DoD environments.
  • Demonstrate expert proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise DBMSs, including high availability, replication, advanced tuning, and stored procedures.
  • Have extensive experience with DoD cybersecurity, DISA STIGs, RMF, ACAS/Tenable, and HBSS/ESS.
  • Have strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Bring expertise in virtualization, storage, and server platforms, including VMware vSphere, Linux, and Windows Server.
  • Meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT II or higher, such as Security+, CySA+, or CASP+.
  • Hold an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Airflow, Informatica, or similar ETL frameworks is desirable.
  • Experience with Navy training or readiness systems, FTM data integration, and Navy enterprise standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize relational and NoSQL database architectures supporting FTM/FLTMPS data exchange, readiness metrics, training compliance, and enterprise reporting.
  • Develop schemas, stored procedures, indexing, partitioning, and replication configurations for high-volume Fleet user activity.
  • Architect and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, validate, and publish training and readiness data.
  • Implement database encryption, key management, auditing, and access controls that comply with RMF and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Administer Windows/Linux servers, VMware/ESXi virtualization platforms, storage systems, and enterprise services supporting Navy readiness systems.
  • Manage backup and restore, high availability, failover clustering, and disaster recovery for mission systems and databases.
  • Monitor systems and database layers using tools such as Splunk, ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, and vendor-specific utilities.
  • Develop security documentation, manage vulnerability findings and remediation, and coordinate compliance evidence for ATO packages.
  • Coordinate system and database changes with development, cybersecurity, functional, and training stakeholders; oversee configuration management and release coordination.
  • Prepare system environments for demonstrations and produce technical reports and briefings for Government leadership.
