Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in data engineering, with strong ownership of production data pipelines on Azure.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for distributed data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and/or Azure Databricks.
- Experience with Delta Lake or OneLake and Medallion architecture patterns.
- Strong background in data modeling, schema design, and enterprise data architecture across the data lifecycle.
- Experience designing APIs and MCP-based integrations for data exchange with front-line systems and Data Agents.
- Experience with orchestration and CI/CD, such as Fabric pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of data governance and security tooling, including Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog.
- Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical design discussions on client-facing engagements.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex, large-scale data issues independently.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications and/or Databricks certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and build of end-to-end data platforms for ingestion, transformation, analytics, and activation.
- Architect Medallion lakehouse patterns using OneLake or Delta Lake.
- Own dimensional, normalized, and semantic data modeling for client engagements.
- Design batch and streaming ingestion patterns, including event-driven architectures.
- Build APIs and data services for analytics, reporting, and downstream applications.
- Design MCP and API integrations for business systems, Data Agents, and agentic AI interfaces.
- Implement data governance patterns using Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog.
- Support production operations and incident response for critical pipelines and activation services.
- Mentor engineers, review technical work, and provide direction on designs.
- Advise client stakeholders on architecture decisions and contribute to reusable frameworks, engineering standards, and presales.
