Requirements
- Have 6–8 years of software engineering experience, including ownership of production services and databases.
- Have strong experience building production Python applications and APIs.
- Have experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Have experience designing and operating scalable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines.
- Have hands-on experience with clinical or healthcare data.
- Understand FHIR resources, HL7 standards, terminology, and interoperability challenges.
- Have experience designing normalized, dimensional, and domain-oriented data models.
- Be able to independently lead complex initiatives and make sound technical decisions.
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate Python backend services and RESTful APIs for the Medical Data Server.
- Design and evolve scalable clinical data models using FHIR and HL7.
- Build and maintain batch and event-driven pipelines to ingest, transform, validate, and deliver clinical data.
- Establish automated validation, testing, reconciliation, and monitoring for clinical data.
- Develop transformation layers and curated datasets for reporting, analytics, product functionality, and AI use cases.
- Implement data documentation, lineage, provenance, versioning, retention, and auditability practices.
- Collaborate with clinical, product, application engineering, architecture, analytics, and AI teams on technical solutions.
- Lead design discussions, contribute to architectural decisions, review implementations, mentor engineers, and help establish engineering standards.
