Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bring 5+ years of relevant experience, including grants or contracts management.
- Have 3+ years of experience working in a mid-market organization; nonprofit healthcare experience is preferred.
- Have experience coordinating or preparing grants and contracts, including federal contracting and grant compliance requirements.
- Bring knowledge of subcontractor management and conflict-of-interest requirements; this is preferred.
- Have experience handling confidential information and drafting or editing policies, procedures, reports, and proposals.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of automated accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Have financial analysis skills and knowledge of GAAP and current accounting practices.
- Know Connecticut State Cost Standards and/or federal Uniform Grant Guidance standards.
- Have advanced Excel skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
- Have proficiency with project management tools for creating and tracking timelines.
- Be able to manage multiple priorities independently with strong organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis to support decision-making, program management, and operational planning.
- Track and monitor grant-purchased assets, grant-constructed assets, and development projects.
- Monitor procurement, sub-recipient requirements, and grant and contract compliance obligations.
- Review policies and procedures for alignment with applicable federal and state requirements.
- Prepare financial analyses, grant and contract reports, and internal financial updates for program managers and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with audit and reporting requirements and prepare grant and contract summaries for audits.
- Develop budgets and financial projections for grants and contracts.
- Participate in grant implementation meetings and provide financial and administrative guidance.
- Process reclassifications and journal entries for grant cost centers when required.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve grant-related financial, reporting, and compliance issues.
