Requirements
- Have 7+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience owning and operating backend services in production.
- Have experience building and operating data pipelines, third-party integrations, and asynchronous processing systems at scale.
- Demonstrate experience improving system reliability through observability, alerting, incident reduction, and operational best practices.
- Have experience at a product-focused startup or scale-up, with ownership of systems and services throughout their lifecycle.
- Bring strong backend development experience; Node.js and TypeScript are identified as relevant technologies.
- Have experience with databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Be familiar with cloud infrastructure and observability technologies such as AWS, Datadog, and Temporal.
- Understand scalable backend architecture, distributed systems, data processing, and production operations.
Responsibilities
- Own backend services and data pipelines for Grader scans, from ingesting third-party signals to serving results at scale.
- Reduce latency and improve uptime ahead of product expansion.
- Build observability, monitoring, and alerting capabilities.
- Establish shared abstractions, architectural patterns, operational runbooks, and platform foundations.
- Build and operate scalable data pipelines, third-party integrations, and asynchronous processing systems.
- Identify and resolve reliability and operational challenges, supporting incident prevention and system health.
- Partner with Product-Led Growth and AI Agents teams to evolve the product into an AI-powered solution for restaurant owners.
- Make architectural and technical decisions that balance scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
