Requirements
- Hold an MD or DO degree and be board certified in psychiatry by ABPN.
- Have a current unrestricted license to practice medicine within the United States.
- Be willing to obtain cross-licensing in additional states as needed.
- Bring leadership experience and a strong background in teaching and collaborating with colleagues.
- Have experience managing risk and responding to clinical crises.
- Have strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Be available to work part-time, approximately 24 hours per week.
- Be comfortable with computer and live video tools, such as Zoom, Google Meets, DoxyMe, or Skype.
- Telehealth experience in a virtual environment is preferred but not required.
- Availability for weekday afternoon and evening hours (11am-8pm Pacific Time) is preferred; Saturday work may be possible.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations for child, teen, and/or adult participants in high acuity care services.
- Provide psychopharmacological management, including prescribing and monitoring medications and educating patients about medications.
- Collaborate with patients on medication-related decisions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Consult with high acuity therapists on complex cases, diagnostic considerations, and medication-related issues.
- Conduct brief individual follow-up appointments for medication management and treatment progress monitoring.
- Complete psychiatric documentation, including evaluation reports, medication charts, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Use telehealth platforms and electronic health records for virtual care and documentation.
- Contribute to evaluation and improvement of the high acuity care programs.
