Requirements
- Have 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience in production, including VPC, IAM, EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, and SQS.
- Have production Terraform experience and multi-environment state management; Terragrunt is a plus.
- Have production Kubernetes and Docker experience, specifically with EKS.
- Have strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, or ArgoCD, and GitOps practices.
- Have strong infrastructure security experience, including IAM least privilege, secrets, patching, vulnerability scanning, and MFA enforcement.
- Have built observability using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or ELK.
- Have backend competency in Java (Spring Boot), Python, or Node, and understand JVM, concurrency, and asynchronous systems.
- Be comfortable as the senior infrastructure person and be self-directed, disciplined, and opinionated about documentation.
- Have B2/C1 level English.
Responsibilities
- Own five AWS accounts across the organisation.
- Architect and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform, replacing remaining click-ops.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, using blue-green and canary deployments where appropriate.
- Run releases reliably and reduce key-person risk in the deployment process.
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and incident response; define SLIs and SLOs for user journeys.
- Lead infrastructure incident response and run blameless post-mortems.
- Patch and harden the platform, including IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and MFA enforcement.
- Lead infrastructure work for the TV launch, including autoscaling, capacity planning, and runbooks.
- Partner with backend engineers on production issues involving the application tier.
- Architect multi-region disaster recovery and drive the platform toward self-healing.
- Optimise costs across DynamoDB, Lambda, and the wider AWS footprint.
- Set architectural guardrails with tech leads and software engineers, and mentor engineers.
