Requirements
- Have 5+ years of field or outside sales experience selling retirement plan products, such as 401(k), 403(b), 457 plans, or mutual funds.
- Demonstrate success achieving sales quotas.
- Bring strong prospecting, territory-management, and business-development capabilities.
- Have significant experience working with retirement plans in a wholesaling or consultative sales environment.
- Have experience managing a geographic territory and traveling regularly to meet customers and business partners.
- Hold Securities licenses Series 6, 63, and 65.
- Have strong presentation, communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
- Be able to develop competitive intelligence and translate product knowledge into customer solutions.
- Demonstrate the ability to mentor others and contribute to sales-team development.
- Have an excellent driving record and eligibility to be insured under the applicable corporate insurance policy.
- Live within the North Carolina/South Carolina territory or be willing to relocate and travel as required.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the North Carolina and South Carolina territory, identifying new business opportunities and expanding market presence.
- Meet established sales quotas and targets while supporting customer satisfaction and retention.
- Provide consultative sales support to partners and customers on retirement plan products, services, and solutions.
- Use retirement plan knowledge and competitive intelligence to position solutions in the assigned market.
- Coordinate customer strategies with internal retirement plan sales teams and other resources.
- Build business relationships through prospecting, account management, and finalist presentations.
- Strengthen product knowledge, sales capabilities, competitive awareness, and territory-management practices.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute sales practices and ideas to local, regional, and national teams.
- Travel regularly throughout the territory and represent the organization in customer and partner engagements.
