Requirements
- Have 5+ years of account management experience in CPG or tobacco/OTP categories, including headquarters-level account management and/or direct field sales.
- Demonstrate success negotiating key account contracts, expanding distribution and account footprints, and leading strategic sales initiatives against commercial targets.
- Have working knowledge of syndicated data platforms such as IRI and Nielsen.
- Be proficient with Salesforce, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing for at least three consecutive years and have a reliable vehicle for daily business use.
- Be able to travel regularly, approximately 30–40%, including occasional overnight stays.
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform in-store merchandising activities, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, and working at heights of approximately 9–12 feet.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with chain accounts, national retail partners, and regional distributors at headquarters and regional levels.
- Develop account-specific sales, distribution, merchandising, and category strategies within assigned budgets.
- Use IRI, Nielsen, and other market data to provide customers with category insights and recommendations.
- Manage independent retail locations, maintain existing business, and identify product placement and distribution opportunities.
- Execute retail initiatives, promotions, inventory programs, and the 4 Ps of retail: Presence, Pricing, Promotion, and Product.
- Lead buyer meetings, category reviews, Top-to-Top sessions, contracted space management, and inventory resolution discussions.
- Partner with field sales, trade marketing, and internal stakeholders to implement programs that improve sales execution and product placement.
- Monitor account and territory performance and refine sales strategies based on results and market insights.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory for store visits, planning sessions, business reviews, and meetings.
