Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree.
- Hold an active state teaching license.
- Hold an appropriate state Department of Education Elementary School (K-5) Teaching Certification.
- Be able to clear the required background check.
- Work independently, typically 40 or more hours per week.
- Maintain a professional home office without distractions during the workday.
- Be available for the school-defined schedule, typically 9–5 or 8–4.
- Travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time.
- Experience with the proposed age group is desired.
- Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment and familiarity with online learning platforms are desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on each student's level of mastery.
- Adapt course content using appropriate synchronous and asynchronous tools under guidance from the principal and coach.
- Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions.
- Monitor student performance and progress, and alert administrators to concerns.
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
- Communicate regularly and promptly with students, parents, and learning coaches.
- Support parents and learning coaches with curricular and instructional issues and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting.
- Travel for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements.
